Diversity, Learning, and Pathways to Inclusive Excellence

AAC&U’s Network for Academic Renewal will host Facing the Divides: Diversity, Learning, and Pathways to Inclusive Excellence on October 21–23, 2010, in Houston, Texas. The conference will focus on ways to bridge the divides of ideology, belief, and access that are affecting democratic discourse and student success in college and beyond. Women as Intercultural Leaders Conference

The Center for Women’s Intercultural Leadership at Saint Mary’s College will hold its 2010 conference on September 30–October 2, 2010, on the Saint Mary’s campus in Notre Dame, Indiana. Titled Women as Intercultural Leaders: Imagination, Innovation, Integrity, the conference will “explor[e] the intersections of women's studies, international and multicultural education, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.” For information and to register, visit

National Women’s Studies Association Conference

The National Women’s Studies Association will hold its annual conference in Denver, Colorado, on November 11–14, 2010. This year’s event will continue the 2009 conference’s theme of Difficult Dialogues with plenary presentations by such speakers as M. Jacqui Alexander and Chandra Talpade Mohanty. Patsy Mink Education Foundation Awards

The Patsy Mink Education Foundation offers education grants to low-income women with children. The 2010 Education Support Awards will provide $2,000 to each of five women who are enrolled in accredited education or training programs. The application deadline is July 15, 2010.
